Sean Percy Travis
As a first responder for over a decade, Sean has become very acquainted with having to navigate an extremely stressful lifestyle. It wasn’t until he heard at the fire station kitchen table one day that suicide is the number one cause of death for first responders did the light bulb spark. We are doing things very wrong...and it’s time to change. This is not something that happens overnight, but is a lifestyle issue. We can fix that.
Having played sports for his entire life well into the collegiate level, studying science and the human body while also adhering to longevity and spiritual practices, it has become apparent that there are many lifestyle habits that we can adopt in order to combat the stressful lifestyle of the first responder.
Sean’s goal is to create programming for first responders that gets them out of the shadow of just trying to survive, and propels them into the light of getting to thrive. His bachelor’s degree involves subjects such as genetics, biochemistry, advanced nutrition, kinesiology, exercise physiology, and cellular biology. Sean is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F), and Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Currently working full time as a firefighter paramedic in one of the busiest departments in the world, it is obvious that this is a passion close to home.
Whether you catch Sean at the beach playing volleyball or surfing, maybe in the mountains chasing fresh powder, or somewhere else in the world exploring the wonders that other cultures have to offer, you will find him constantly wondering the same thing. How do we make the biggest positive impact possible, and empower others to do the same?
